Blood is always thicker than water

I was reading Belinda's blog and i stumbled on one of her posts. It was very touching. I actually almost teared when i watched the video. Yeah, call me a sissy if you would... but why the fuck should i care? If u'd have no heart, go fuck urself with a banjo. And yea i know it's alread 2.45am, but i can't sleep, and i don't know why. It got me very interested and i went searching about their news... until i found their website.

Entitled Team Hoyt, it has everything about this father-and-son team from Massachusetts who goes around competing in marathons and triathlons around America. The father, Dick Hoyt, has been pushing and pulling his son along in every event, literally!!

When it was at the cycling category, Dick cycled with Rick sitting in front on a portable seat.

Dick swam across seas, tugging his son, Rick on a small boat strapped onto himself.

Do not judge the son before knowing the entire story. Dick's son, Rick Hoyt was born in 1962, but he had an accident during birth. His umbilical cord was found coiled around his neck and has cut off oxygen to his brain. Dick and his wife, Judy, were told by doctors that there would be no hope for Rick’s development. Many would have given up on Rick, but the couple never gave up and tried to raise him up as "normal" as they can. Rick even proved everyone else wrong by being able to talk. He even graduated from Boston University!! He was born as a spastic quadriplegic, cerebral palsy, non-speaking person. But the ability of his mind and person have always been very strong, and his family have been hearty supporters of his quest for independence and inclusion in community activities, sports, school and the workplace.

Now with Dick and Rick at ages 65 and 42, they're still competing in as many marathon and triathlon events as they can. It is almost an impossible feat for many, but both father and son did it together, hand in hand, side by side...

It is just damn nice to see such determined hearts. It's amazing what a father can do just for the son. I almost teared up like a bitch when i saw the video. It wasn't easy riding a bike for long distances with someone sitting in front; it wasn't easy running while pushing someone; and it wasn't even easy to swim for far distances while pulling someone! But Dick has done it! Rick has also succeeded in proving all their critics wrong!

I totally salute them!!

They went against the odds and made it to the top. They proved everyone wrong. They did it with their sheer determined wills and they did it all the way.

So can we... if we put our hearts to it.

Now i just wanna be grateful with my parents and love them even more than i do right now.
